Spring News and Dates For Your Diary

We thank our generous craft donors and many of us enjoy a good old root through and give generously to the honesty box. This system works well and since September 2021, when it was reinstated, it has raised £250 for Carlbeck. We reiterate this because we value it, however, we are getting somewhat behind in our clearing. The Wednesday Middlesborough ladies, and John, were steadfast in taking away our surplus and the Cone Exchange and the Lions accepted our donations. They are still prepared to come and collect some more. Continue reading “Spring News and Dates For Your Diary”

Reopening the Carlbeck Centre

We hope you have all stayed safe and well throughout these many months and now feel able to resume something of a more normal routine. The Committee looks forward to reopening the building to craft groups from Monday 21st September.  We will be trialling new layouts and ways of working to offer a safe environment for everyone. We have suspended the subscription/ £2 session payment during this initial period and we will not be charging users as we adapt to the more prescriptive measures.  Continue reading “Reopening the Carlbeck Centre”

Latest Opening Update

We hope that you are all keeping well and staying safe.  You may be wondering when Carlbeck will be back in operation at some level.

The management committee held a meeting on 29 June to discuss the possibility of re-opening the Carlbeck Centre.

We regret that at this time there is insufficient evidence to support the safe opening of the building.  The committee has a responsibility to all users, but most especially to the more vulnerable members of our groups.  We realise the decision will be a disappointment to many,  however, we hope you understand that this is for the safety, health and wellbeing of everyone.  This decision will be reviewed later in the summer.

We will keep you updated.

Very best wishes

Management Committee, Lunedale Community Association
